The member of the month is none other than our Surfs Sports Director, Anne-Maree Mueller. Joining in the 2011/12 season with Steve and Matt, she immediately became involved as an Age Manager which would later become one of the biggest nipper groups to attain their Surf Rescue Certificate. We eagerly await them to become fully fledged lifesavers and attain their Bronze Medallion. Anne-Maree’s guidance and leadership skills over the last year and half, developing transition programs and organising activities has prepared them well for their next stage in lifesaving. In the later years and in conjunction with age managing, Anne-Maree stepped into the role of Junior Activities Chairperson running a successful junior program for three years. Back in 2014, she began her journey as a surf lifesaver attaining her Bronze Medallion and resuscitation awards. Anne-Maree has been an instrumental patrolling member increasing her qualifications through First Aid and most recently Silver Medallion Beach Management. Embracing the competitive side, it is near impossible to find an area you have not volunteered. The numerous hours entering, carnival nominations, age managing, team managing, and loading and unloading the gear trailer, will not go unforgotten. Anne-Maree has also had a hand in officiating at carnivals as a starter, marshal or judge, but has taken her training to the next level becoming a senior official to keep the carnival running seamlessly and on time. Congratulations Anne-Maree, you are a true asset to the club and we look forward many more wonderful years!
